Earlier packages of itcl/itk were given names like "itcl3.1", and were tied to specific versions of tcl/tk. This version uses the "stubs", which is supposed to make it independent of the version of tcl/tk in use. That's the theory. In practice, because of the threading support introduced in tcl8.4, this package needs v8.4, but it should have reasonable forward compatibility, so I have changed the package names to itcl3 and itk3. -- Chris Waters , Sun Aug 24 14:50:10 2003
