I certainly to remember that day on the Brule. It was one of the most harrowing of all my trips as Trip Counselor. It wasn't until later that evening when I realized how close we all came to getting smashed between the canoe and the downed tree, as we worked to free the boat.
I believe it was the same trip, when almost all of the canoes without a counselor tipped in the rapids -- except for the canoe carrying Joel Lewis (and I can't remember who is partner was), went down the rapids backwards -- unscathed.
